??The label on the sensor shows the span gas to be used (e.g.: Butane) and a response factor. Multiply the concentration of your span gas [% UEG] with the resonse factor shwon on the sensor label. Perform a gas calibration as mentioned in 4.2.1. Enter the result of the multiplication as your span gas concentration.

4.3 Changing the Alarm Levels

Compur Ex plus features two adjustable alarm levels. Standard factory setting is 25 % and 50 % LEL.

Alarm threshold A1 may not be higher than alarm level A2 and alarm threshold A2 may not be lower than A1. If you want to adjust A1 to more than actual A2, you first need to increase A2.

Adjusting alarm level A1

??Turn the function switch to “TEST”- position. Instrument will perform an automatic selftest.

??Press “Cal” using the keyboard pin. The display will show “000” indicating the automatic zero adjust.

??When the zero adjust is finished, display will show “GCAL”. ??Press “Fct”. Display indicates “A1”.

??Press “Cal” once. Display will show current A1 adjustment.

??Press and hold “Cal”. Display will increase until it has reached A2 and than start again at zero.

??If display has reached the desired value for A1, stop pressing “Cal” and press “Fct”. Display shows “Stor” indicating that the new value has been stored in memory.

??After storage the instrument will show the actual measured value.

Adjusting alarm level A2

??Follow the procedure as described in A1 adjustment until the display shows “GCAL”. ??Press “Fct” twice. Display will show “A2”.

??Press “Cal” once. Display will show current A2 adjustment.

??Press and hold “Cal”. Display will increase until it has reached 100 % LEL and than start again at A1.

??If display has reached the desired value for A2, stop pressing “Cal” and press “Fct”. Display shows “Stor” indicating that the new value has been stored in memory.

??After storage the instrument will sho w the actual measured value.
