Protecting Yourself and Those Around You
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to the presence of children. Childr en are often
attracted to the mo wer and the mowing activity.Ne ver assume that children will r emain where you
last saw them.
■Be sure the area is clear of other people before mowing. Do not allow children, other
bystanders, or pets in your wor k area when the mower is being operated. Stop the mower if
anyone enters the area.
■Keep children out of the mowing area and under the watchful care of a responsible adult.
■Be alert and turn the mower off if children enter the area.
■Only allow r esponsible individuals who have a thorough under standing of these instructions to
operate the mo wer. Never allow children to oper ate the mower.
■Befo re and whil e moving backwards, look behind and down for small c hildren.
■Use extr a care when approaching b lind corners, shrubs, trees, or other objects that may obscure
your vision.

Dressing Appropriately
■Always use safety go ggles or safety glasses with side shields when using y our NEUTON
Mower. Use a face or dust mask if oper ating in dusty conditions.
■Do not operate the mower when barefoot or w hile wearing open sandals. Always wear
substantial footwear with soles that grip and long pants. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewelry as they can get ca ught in the moving parts.
Preparing to Use Your Mower
■Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manuals. Be thor oughly
familiar with the controls and the proper use of the mower before starting.

■Never operat e the NEUTON Mower without the proper guards, safety switc hes, or other safety
and protective devices in place and properly connected. Inspect to determine that these safety
devices are properly installed, in good repair, and oper ate properly. If the condition or
operation of these devices is questionable, they must be repaired or r eplaced before using the
mower.
■Follow the instructions f or the proper installation and operation of accessories. Use only
accessories approved by the manuf acturer. Do not alter any aspect of the mower, attachments,
or accessories in any way.
