NEUTON EM 4.1 Cordless Electric Mower Safety & Operating Instructions 33
Storing your NEUTON MowerWhether you store the mo wer for a short or long period of time, always remember these important
guidelines:
■Always store the mower with a full battery charge and follow the recharging instructions in
“Chapter 5:Charging and Caring f or the Battery.”
■Always store the mower in an environment w here the temperature is betw een –4°F (–20°C) and
+104°F (+40°C). Make sure the storage temperatures will never be outside these limits. For
long-term storage, store your battery in an environment where the temperatur e is lower, since
the battery self-discharges slower at low temperatur es.
■Store the mower in a dry environment.
■Do not store the mower near chemicals such as fertilizers. These pr oducts are often highly
corr osive and may cause permanent damage to your mo wer.
■Do not store the battery in proximity to organic solvents.
■Always keep the safety key in a safe place and a way from child ren. You can safely keep the
battery in the mower when storing them for the long-term.
■We recommend storing the mower and the battery so that they will not get wet.
If you must store the battery outside the mower, follow these r ules:
■If the battery will be used ag ain, give it a full char ge before removing it from the mower.
■Do not store the battery close to a source of heat, sparks or open flames.
■The ambient (surr ounding) temperature range must be between –4°F (–20°C) and +104°F
(+40°C).
■Do not expose the battery to abnormal shaking or shocks.
■Store the battery away from children and animals.
■Do not press, bend, or use for ce on the terminals.
■Do not apply heat (such as a soldering iron) to the terminals.
■Store the battery in as dry an envir onment as possible. Do not store it on a floor that may be
damp or subject to accidental flooding, such as a basement.
■Regularly obser ve the external a ppearance of the ba ttery and keep it clean and dr y.Ne ver use a
battery that shows cracks, chang es shape, leaks, or otherwise is obviously damaged.
■Neve r throw away used batteries. Bring them to a recycling center or dealer for pr oper disposal.
■During long-term storage of batteries that are intended for r euse, you should r einstall them
periodically and recharge as r ecommended in “Chapter 5: Charging and Caring for the Ba ttery.”
