iMPORTANT:The V-beltfoundon your tractoris speciallydesigned
toengageand disengagesafely.Asubstitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
bedangerousbynot disengagingcompletely.For a properworking
machine,useidenticalequipmentbeltsas listedinthe partspagesof
thisOperator'sManual.
Tochangeorreplacethe deckbelt on yourtractor,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethedeckas instructedearlierinthis section.
2. Removethebeltcoversfrom thespindlepulleysby removingthe
hexscrewsthatfastenthe coverstothe deck.SeeFig.25,
3. It mayalsobe necessaryto loosenthe hex nuton the leftidler
pulleytoget thebelt offthepulleyand aroundthebeltguard.
4. Carefullyremovethedeckbeltfrom aroundthetwospindle
pulleysandthetwo deck idlerpulleys,SeeFig, 25,
5. Toplacethe newbelt,beginby routingthebelt aroundthetwo
outerspindlepulleysasshownin Fig,25,
6. Thenroutethe beltaroundthetwo deckidlerpulleysasshownin
Fig.25.
7. Retightenthebeltkeeperrodloosenedearlier.
8. Remountthebeltguardsremovedearlier,
9. Re-installthedeck,makingsurethe beltremainsroutedaround
thepulleysas instructed.Thecompletebelt routingisshownin
Fig.25.
10. Pullthe rightside ofthe belt,and placethe narrowVside of the
beltintothePTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthebelt andpulleytogether,rotatethepulleyto the
left.Continueholdingand rotatingthepulleyand beltuntil thebelt
is fullyrolledinto thePTOpulley.
PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Neverattempttoadjustthe brakeswhiletheengineisrunning.Always
disengagePTO(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutral
position,stopengineand removekeytopreventunintendedstarting.
Ifthe tractordoesnot cometo a completestopwhenthe clutch-brake
pedalis completelydepressed,orifthe tractor's rearwheelscan roll
withthe parkingbrakeapplied,thebrakeis in needof adjustment.
