1. Startengineas instructedintheStartingThe Enginesection.
2. Turnthekeyfrom the NORMALMOWING(Green)positionto the
REVERSECAUTIONMODE(Yellow)positionofthe keyswitch

5. Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeandwhilebackingto make

6. Afterresumingforwardmotion,returnthekeyto the NORMAL
MOWINGposition.
IMPORTANT:The REVERSECAUTIONMODEwill remainactivated
until:
a. Thekeyis placed in eitherthe NORMALMOWINGposition
orSTOPposition.
b. Theoperatorleavestheseat.Followthe previousinstruc-
tionsto re-activate.

STARTING THE ENGINE

1. Insertthetractorkey intothe keyswitchmodule.
2. Disengagethe PTO(Blade Engage)knob.
3. Engagethetractor'sparkingbrake.
4. Pullthechokecontrol knoboutwardintothe fullchoke position(a
warmenginemaynot requirechoking).
5. Movethethrottlecontrolleverto the FASTposition.
6. Turntheignition keyclockwisetothe STARTposition.After
theenginestarts, releasethe key.It will returntothe NORMAL
MOWINGposition.
IMPORTANT:Do nothold the key inthe STARTpositionforlonger
thantenseconds ata time. Doing so maycausedamageto your
engine'selectricstarter.
7. After the enginestarts,graduallypushthe chokeknobfully inward
asthe enginewarmsup.
NOTE:Donot usethechokecontrolto enrichthe fuelmixture,except
as necessarytostartandwarm upthe engine.

IMPORTANT

Ifleavingthe tractorunattended,alsoturnthe
ignitionkeyoff and removethekey.
Donot mowon slope inexcessof 15degrees(a rise
ofapproximately2-1/2feetevery10feet).
Planyourmowingpatternto avoiddischargeof
materialstowardroads,sidewalks,bystandersand
thelike.Also, avoiddischargingmaterialagainst
awall or obstructionwhichmaycausedischarged
materialtoricochetbacktowardthe operator.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

Ifyou strikeaforeign object,stopthe engineanddisconnectthe
sparkplugwire(s). Thoroughlyinspectthemachineforany
damage.Repairthedamagebeforerestartingandoperating.
1. Ifthe bladesareengaged,disengagethePTO.
2. Movethethrottlecontrolleverto midwaybetweenthehalf andfull
throttle.Thenturnthe ignitionkeycounterclockwisetothe OFF
position.
3. Removethekeyfromthe ignitionswitchto preventunintended
starting.
