whomayrun intothemachine.
Toavoidback-overaccidents,alwaysdisengagethe cutting

Keepchildrenawayfromhotor runningengines.Theycan suffer

TOWING

notattachtowedequipmentexceptatthe hitch point.

Neverallowchildrenorothersin oron towedequipment.
Onslopes,theweightof the towedequipmentmaycauselossof
tractionandlossof control.
Alwaysuseextracautionwhentowingwith a machinecapableof
makingtightturns(e.g."zero-turn"ride-onmower). Makewide
turnstoavoidjack-knifing.
Travelslowlyandallowextradistanceto stop.
Donotcoast downhill.

SafeHandlingof Gasoline
Toavoidpersonalinjuryorpropertydamageuseextremecarein
handlinggasoline.Gasolineisextremelyflammableandthe vaporsare
explosive.Seriouspersonalinjurycanoccurwhen gasolineisspilled
onyourselfor yourclotheswhich canignite.Washyourskinand
changeclothesimmediately.
• Useonlyan approvedgasolinecontainer.
Neverfillcontainersinsidea vehicleor on a truckor trailerbed
witha plasticliner.Alwaysplacecontainerson thegroundaway
fromyourvehiclebeforefilling.
Whenpractical,removegas-poweredequipmentfromthe truck
ortrailer andrefuelit on theground.If this isnot possible,then
refuelsuchequipmentona trailerwitha portable container,rather
thanfroma gasolinedispensernozzle.
Keepthenozzleincontactwith the rim of the fueltank or
containeropeningatall timesuntilfuelingis complete.Donot use
anozzlelock-opendevice.
Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipesandothersourcesof
ignition.
• Neverfuelmachineindoors.
Neverremovegascapor addfuel whilethe engineishot or run-
ning.Allowengineto coolatleast twominutesbeforerefueling.
Neveroverfillfuel tank. Filltank to no morethan 1/2inchbelow
bottomoffiller neckto allowspace forfuel expansion.
• Replacegasolinecapandtightensecurely.
• Ifgasolineisspilled,wipe itoff the engineandequipment.Move
machinetoanotherarea.Wait5 minutesbeforestartingthe
engine.
Toreducefirehazards,keepmachinefreeof grass,leaves,or
otherdebrisbuild-up.Cleanup oilor fuel spillageandremoveany
fuelsoakeddebris.
Neverstorethemachineorfuel containerinsidewherethere isan
openflame,sparkor pilotlight as ona waterheater,spaceheater,
furnace,clothesdryeror othergasappliances.
Allowa machinetocool atleast fiveminutesbeforestoring.
