PREPARING THE ENGINE
Forenginesstoredover30 days:
1. Topreventgum fromformingin fuelsystemor on carburetor
parts,runengineuntil it stopsfrom lack of fuel oradd a gasoline
additivetothegas in the tank.If youuse a gasadditive, runthe
engineforseveralminutestocirculatethe additivethroughthe
carburetor--afterwhichtheengineand fuelcan bestoredup to
sixmonths.
2. Whileengineisstillwarm,changethe oil.
3. Removesparkplugand pourapproximately1oz.(30 ml)of clean
engineoilinto thecylinder.Pullthe recoilstarterseveraltimes to
distributetheoil,and reinstallthe sparkplug.
4. Cleanengineofsurfacedebris.
PREPARING THE LAWN MOWER
Whenstoringthe mowerinan unventilatedormetalstorageshed,
careshouldbetaken torustproofthenon-paintedsurfaces.Using
alight oil orsilicone,coatthe equipment,especiallyanysprings,
bearings,andcables.
Removealldirt from exteriorofengineand equipment.
• Followlubricationrecommendations.
Storeequipmentinaclean, dryarea. Do notstore in an area
whereequipmentispresentthatmayuse a pilotlightor has a
componentthatcancreatea spark.
