BEFORE MAKING A CUT, BE SURE ALL
ADJUSTMENTS ARE SECURE.
BEFORE CHANGING THE SETUP, REMOVING
COVERS, GUARDS OR BLADE,TURN OFF
THE SAW, AND UNPLUG THE SAW. A
DO NOT FEED THE MATERIAL TOO QUICKLY.
Do not force the workpiece against the blade.
NEVER cut more thanone piece ata time. DO•
NOT STACK more thanone workpiece onthe +
saw table at a time.
AVOID cU'rFING NAILS. Inspect for and
remove all nailsfrom lumber beforecutting.
NEVER TOUCH BLADE or other movingparts
during use.
NEVER START A TOOL WHEN THE BLADE IS
IN CONTACT WITH THE WORKPIECE.
ALLOW THE MOTOR TO COME UP TO FULL
SPEED before starting a cut.
FIRMLY CLAMP OR BOLT yourband sawto a
firm, level workbench or table. The most comfort-
able saw tableheight is36 inches orat approxi-
mately hip height.
AVOID AWKWARD OPERATIONS AND HAND
POSITIONS where a sudden slipcould cause
your hand to move into the blade. ALWAYS
make sure you have good balance.
REPLACEMENT PARTS. Allrepairs, whether
electrical or mechanical, shouldbe made by a
qualified service technician at a Sears store.
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical
Craftsman replacement parts. Use of any other
parts may create a hazard or cause product
damage.
NEVER USE IN AN EXPLOSIVE ATMO-
SPHERE. Normal sparking of the motorcould
ignite fumes.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS TOOL WHILE UN-
DER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL,
OR ANY MEDICATION.
STAY ALERT AND EXERCISE CONTROL.
Watch what youare doing and use common
sense. Do not operate tool when you aretired.
Do not rush.
MAKE SURE THE WORK AREA HAS AMPLE
LIGHTING to see the work andthat no obstruc-
tions will interfere with safe operation BEFORE
performing any work using your saw.
ALWAYS TURN OFF SAW before disconnecting
it,to avoidaccidental startingwhen reconnecting
to power supply. NEVER leavethe band saw
unattended while connected toa powersource.

frequently and useto instructother users. If you
loan someone this tool,loan them these instruc-
tions also.

The blade guides and thrust bearings have been pre-assembled but will require final adjustment before using
yoursaw. Refer to "ADJUSTING THRUST BEARINGS, BLADE GUIDE SUPPORT, AND BLADE GUIDES"
procedures explained in the ADJUSTMENTS section of the owner's manual.
