Forwarding Configuration

The switch monitors all of the Ethernet segments to which it is connected. Since Ethernet frames include the MAC (Ethernet) address of the originating station, the switch can automatically learn what segment the frame’s destination is connected to, and forward the frame to only that segment. (If the switch hasn’t yet learned what segment a station belongs to, it forwards the packet to all ports.)

To display the forwarding table, the switch’s current idea of what stations are attached to what ports,

1.Choose Spanning Tree Algorithm Parameters from the main menu.
