HDD damage can occur when the system is set or dropped flat on any surface. To help alleviate damaging the hard drive, Dell has optimised its design to control the shock response spectrum measure at the hard drive when a system is shocked.

HyperCool™ Hybrid Thermal Management System

To contain the power of the new Intel® Pentium® M processors, the Latitude X300 incorporates Dell’s HyperCool™ thermal management system. The cooling system implements Remote Heat Exchanger technology with a larger phase change liquid heat pipe and hybrid

cooler to dissipate the heat created by high-power CPUs. As needed, a variable speed fan draws cool external air over high efficiency Aluminum fins and out the exhaust port.
