Encryption: Wireless network communications can be intercepted easily. To prevent unauthorized access to the network you may activate WEP encryption. WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is an encryption method specified by the IEEE 802.11g standard to make any intercepted communications extremely difficult to interpret by unauthorized parties. The default setting for this option is Enable. Enable WEP encryption also for the Access Point.
EncryptKey: WEP encryption uses an encryption key. In this field enter your encryption key to fit the value inserted in the Access Point configuration. We also suggest to change the encryption key periodically to avoid intrusions in the wireless network by unauthorized users. The value inserted in the EncryptKey field must respect the
WARNING: Vega Wireless Camera WLAN is supplied with an enabled WEP encryption and a preconfigured encryption key. This factory setting allows to install the camera and Digicom’s Vega Video image concentrator in a few minutes. In case of use of the Vega Wireless Camera WLAN with a specific Access Point and in order to change the key you only need to enter a new value in the EncryptKey field and then click SAVE. For a greater data security, Digicom has decided not to divulge the default encryption key value.
