13.1Securing MemoryFrame in Business Environments

13.1Securing MemoryFrame in Business Environments

To keep MemoryFrame secure in high-traffic areas, the unit has a receptacle that accepts a Kensington® compatible locking system. Many different lock brands can be used, and are typically called “notebook computer locks”. See Figure 38.

14.Using PowerPoint™ Slides with MemoryFrame

You can display a combination of text, images and PowerPointslides to make presentations or to use MemoryFrame as a point-of-purchase shelf- talker. With the MemoryFrame stereo model you can also add voice or music to the show. PowerPoint allows you to save the slides as TIFF or JPEG images (using the save-as function) or to be pasted into other applications as JPEG images. After the slides have been converted to TIFF or JPEGs, simply drag

&drop them (or copy & paste) into Digital PixMaster for quick USB download to MemoryFrame. Integrating PowerPoint slides into the image slideshows is fun, and in business can make MemoryFrame a valuable tool for many applications.

USB Connectors There are 3 USB connectors as shown in Figure 3. The two marked “Camera” are used to transfer images from a camera, USB memory card reader, USB thumb-drive, USB Ethernet LAN Adapter, or USB

802.11wireless adapter. The one marked “PC” is used to transfer shows to/from a PC running the bundled Digital PixMaster™ software.

Audio Connector The Audio Out connector jack is the connection point for externally powered speakers.

LCD Screen MemoryFrame includes an integrated 10.4” active matrix TFT screen, with a resolution of 800x600 pixels. The MemoryFrame LCD screen is made of glass and should be treated with care. See Section 13 for care and cleaning.

Security Lock MemoryFrame has a Kensington® compatible receptacle that accepts compatible Notebook locking system to add protection and security.

6. Digital PixMasterTM Software

6.1Overview

The Digital PixMaster™ software runs on the computer as a Windows® application and is used to create (image, transition, display time, orientation, text message, audio clip, etc.) a slideshow style presentation of the images, and deliver the slideshow to the MemoryFrame for storage
