RP21D User’s Guide Section Two - Editing Functions

1.This parameter is the Gate Threshold which adjusts the signal strength required to open or close the gate. The number 1 icon is telling you that in order to access the GAte Threshold, you must press the number 1 button. You can then adjust the Gate Threshold by rotating the Data Wheel.

2.This is the Attenuation parameter. Attenuation is the amount of cut applied to the signal when the Gate is closed. The number 2 icon is telling you that in order to access the Attenuation parameter, you must press the number 2 button. You can then change the Attenuation value by rotating the Data Wheel.

3.This is the Attack parameter. The Attack sets the length of time it takes for the gate to open once the Threshold has been exceeded. The number 3 icon is telling you that in order to access the Attack parameter, you must press the number 3 button. You can then change the Attack value by rotating the Data Wheel.

4.This is the Release parameter. The Release is the length of time the gate will remain open after the signal has fallen below the Threshold. The number 4 icon is telling you that in order to access the Release parameter, you must press the number 4 button. You can then change the Release value by rotating the Data Wheel.

5.This section of the display is telling you that you are on page 3 of 3. There are no more pages of parameters to display. Pressing the Next Page button will wrap around to page 1 of 3.

If you made any changes to the Noise Gate parameters, you can save your changes to a user default for the Noise Gate. This will allow you to quickly recall all of these Noise Gate settings when creating another Program just by choosing the user default. To save your Noise Gate settings to a user default, you will have to return to page 1 of 2, and the display will look something like this:

The number 3 icon is telling you that in order to store your Noise Gate settings to a default, you must press the number 3 button. Once you press the number 3 button, the RP21D will take you into a naming menu to give your Noise Gate default setting a custom name. See page 21 for more information on naming functions.

NOTE: The Store option for saving a Noise Gate default will not appear if you did not make any changes to the Noise Gate parameters.

Master Preamp Settings

The Preamp includes some master settings that affect the function of the preamp as a whole. These setting include such parameters as panning assingments for the Tube and Solid State Distortions, Mix settings, and independent volume levels for the active Distortions, bypassed Distortions, DSP Levels, and Master Levels. To access the Master Preamp Settings, press the Preamp button until the entire Preamp section is flashing. Then press the Next Page button until you are on page two. 1.This parameter is the Tube Distortion Pan. The pan is the left/right positioning of the Tube distortion. The number 1 icon is telling you that in order to access the Tube Distortion Pan, you must press the number 1 button. You can then adjust the Pan of the Tube Distortion by rotating the Data Wheel.
