7-3. Making Use of USB (Universal Serial Bus)

This monitor has a USB hub. Connected to a PC compatible with USB, this mon itor functions as a USB hub
allowing connection to peripheral USB devices.
System Requirement
• A PC equipped with a USB port.
• Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 or later
• USB cable
Attention
• Th is monitor may not work depending on PC, OS or per ipheral devices. For USB compatibility of periph eral devices,
contact their manufact ures.
• Dev ices connected to the USB upstrea m port and USB downstream por t work when the monitor is in power saving
mode or when the power button of the monitor is Of f. Therefore, power consumption of the monitor var ies with
connected devices even in the p ower saving mode.
• W hen the main power of the monitor is Off, device co nnected to the USB downstrea m port does not operate.
Procedure
1. Con nect the signal cable between a PC and the monitor, and tur n on the PC.
2. Using the USB cable, connect t he computer’s downstream port and the monitor’s upstream port 1.
3. Con nect the peripheral USB device to the USB downstream por t of the monitor.

• By default, USB upstream port 1 is enabled. To connect two PCs, see “3-8. Switching USB Port Automatically” (page 30).
