Method:
1. Butterbaseandsidesoftwo,20cmstraight-sided
round or square cake pans. Then line the base with
grease proof or baking paper.
2. Preheatoventomoderate‘180ºC’(170ºCfanforced)
and ensure oven shelf is in the centre position of oven.
3. Cream softened butter and sugar u ntil light in colour.
4. Addvanillaessence.
5. Theneggsoneatatime,beatingwellaftereach
addition.
6. Siftourandsaltintothemixtureandbeatuntil
well combined.
7. Addmilkandbeatorstirtocombine.
8. Spoon mixture equally betwe en prepared cake pans.
9. Bakeinpreheatedoven,middleshelfforabout25to35
minutesoruntilwhentestedwithanecakeskewerit
comes out clean or the edges of the cakes have come
away slightly from the sides of the cake pans.
10.Removefromoventowirecakerackandrestfor5
minutes before removing from cake pans.
Cool completely.
