Fancooking Heat comes from the element surrounding th e fan. This fan circulates the hot air around
the oven cavity so that you can put your food in diffe rent places in the oven and still
cookthematthesametime.Youcanusethe“fanCooking”functionfo rmulti-shelf
cooking,reheatingc ookedfoods,pastriesa ndcompleteovenmeals.Itwillcoo k
at a lower temperature and be faster than baking. Please note that so me variation in
browning is normal.
Traditionalbake Heat comes from two elements, one above and one below the food. The bot toms
elementisacleanheatelementandisbe lowtheooroftheoven.Bothelementsare
controlled by the thermostat and will turn on and of f to maintain set temperature. You
canusethe“TraditionalBake”functionforsinglesh elfcooking,singlet raysof
biscuits,scones,mu fns,cakes,slices ,casseroles,bakedpu ddings,roasts
and delicate egg dishe s. This is a general function that can be used fo r most cooking.
Pastry The“Pastry”functionisspeciallyd esignedforfoodthatrequireextrabrowningsucha s
the bases of pastries and pies.Heatcomesfromtheelementbelowthefood.Ifyou
choose the default setting, the oven will heat up to 230°C in order to brow n the food.
You should then drop the temperature to what the recipe required. Cook in the l ower
half of the oven when you are using only one shelf.

thecleanheatelementbelowtheovenoor.The“Pizza”fun ctionisidealforfoodsthat
requirecookingandbrowningonthebase.Itisforfoodss uchaspizzas,quiches ,
meat pies and fruit pies. Simply place the food in the middle of the oven and set the
desired temperature.
Defrost The“Defrost”functionuseslowtemperatureai rthatiscirculatedbythefan.Youcan
defrost(thaw)yourfoodbeforeyoucookit.Youcanalsouse“defrost”toraise yo ur
yeast dough and to dry fr uit, vegetables and h erbs.The“Defrost”functiondoes
not have a suggested temperature but use s the ambient heat in the oven cavity.
Fangrill “fanGrill”offersyouthebenetsofbothtraditiona lbakeandtraditionalgrillfunctions.
The grill element turns on and off to mainta in set temperature while the fan circulates the
heatedovenair.Theovendoorremainsclosedforfangrill.Youcanuse“fanGrill ”for
large cuts of meat,whichgi vesyouaresultsimilarto“rotisserie”cookedmeat.Put
your food on a shelf in the second lowest shelf pos ition. Put the grill dish on the lowest
shelfpositiontocatchanyspills.Whenusing“fanGr ill”itisnotnecessarytoturnthe
food over during the cooking cycle. Set temperature to 180°C.
Halfgrill The“HalfGrill”directsradiantheatfromo nlyoneofthepowerfulupperelementsonto
thefood.The“HalfGrill”functionisusedinste adof“fullGrill”whenonlyhalftheamount
of heat is needed.

Grill”allowsyoutotakefulladvantageofthelargegrilldi shareaandwillcookfasterthan
the“HalfGrill”function.forbestresultsitisre commendedtopreheatyourgrillforthree
minutes.Thiswillhelpsealinthenaturaljuice sofsteak,chopsetcforabetteravour.

Keep warm The“KeepWarm”functionisalowtemperatureovenfunctiond esignedtokeepyour
food at a perfect eating temperature without c ooking it further. Heat comes from the

your food warm while you prepare the re st of the meal or afterwards while you wait for the
late arrival.
Note:Aftercooking,theovenretainsenoughheattocontinuetoco okfoodevenif
theelementsareturnedoff.The“Keepwarm”functio nrecognisesthisbygivingyoua
warningmessage.Ifthishappensthefunctionwilln otstart.
Roast This function starts at a higher temperatu re to seal the meat. The oven will then
automatically reduce to the selected temperature to cook th e meat for as long as desired.
forexample,ifyouusethedefault200°Cthe“Roast”cyclewi llstartat240°Candthen
lower to 200°C.
Pyrolytic cleaning The“Pyrolyticcleaning”func tionisusedforcleaningthemainoven.Itcleansbybur ning
off the spatters and accumulated dirt an d grease from the oven liner, at high temperature.
This process produces ash which can b e wiped out of the oven cavity.
