ANTES DE UTILIZAR EL TENSIÓMETRO DEBERÁ TENER EN CUENTA LAS SIGUIENTES INDICACIONES:

Comunique su tensión al médico o al experto que conoce su historial médico. Si utiliza regularmente el tensiómetro y anota los valores obtenidos podrá informar a su médico sobre las tendencias de su tensión.

Ajuste bien la banda alrededor de su muñeca y coloque ésta a la misma altura que su corazón.

No mueva o desplace el aparato durante la medición, ya que si lo hace no obtendrá un resultado exacto.

Efectúe la medición tranquilamente y en una postura cómoda.

No coloque la banda alrededor de la manga de una chaqueta o de una camisa ya que no sería posible medir la tensión.

Piense que la tensión varía de manera natural a lo largo del día y que además está influida por factores tan diversos como fumar, el consumo de alcohol, la ingesta de medicamentos o los esfuerzos físicos.

En aquellas personas cuyo estado puede provocar problemas de circulación (diabetes mellitus, problemas renales, circulatorios o arteriosclerosis) los resultados en este monitor pueden ser más bajos que en un tensiómetro que mide la tensión en el antebrazo. Consulte a su médico para asegurarse de que la medición de su tensión en la muñeca da valores exactos.

Los valores obtenidos con este aparato se corresponden con los del experto que mide la tensión con una banda o con un estetoscopio. Los valores de medición se encuentran dentro de los límites fijados por la Normalización Nacional para tensiómetros electrónicos y automatizados de Estados Unidos.
