Removing an Access Slot Cover

Some option cards, such as the video card, have an outlet for connecting an external device. If you install an option card that has an external connector for other equipment (such as a monitor), you need to remove the plastic access slot cover on the computer’s back panel that corresponds to the option card slot. Follow these steps:

1.Lay the back panel down as shown below. Each individual access slot cover is held in position by a tab at the bottom and a clip at the top.

2.Remove the appropriate cover by pushing down on the clip, as shown above. Save the cover in case you need to remove the option card later.
