Transparencies. Choose transparencies made just for laser printers or plain paper copiers, and load them only in the built-in paper tray.

Colored paper. When selecting colored paper, make sure the paper does not have a clear or colored coating on it.

Loading Paper in the Built-in Paper Tray

Use these instructions to load paper in the paper tray inside your printer. If you’ve installed an optional paper cassette, follow the steps on page 1-8 to load paper in the cassette.

1.Lift up the front cover.

2.Adjust the edge guides to fit your paper size; some are labeled below the guides.

3.Fan a stack of paper (up to 250 sheets) and then tap the edges to even them up.

4.Slide in the paper until it stops. If necessary, adjust the guides so the paper feeds straight without being squeezed.
