Placing a Document on the Scanner

Before scanning a document, remember to respect the rights of

first checking the copyright status.

1. Turn on the scanner by pressing the

Poperate button. The

operate light starts flashing.

2. Turn on the computer and make sure that the scanner's

operate light is on, but has stopped flashing.

The Operate light does not come on. The scanner does not scan. Quality problems 4-12 Try connecting the scanner directly to the computers USB port, or The scanner software does not work properly. The entire image is distorted or blurred. c Edges of the document are not scanned. Colors are patchy or distored at the edges of the image. 4-14 The image is faint or out of focus. The image is too dark. Straight lines in the image come out jagged. The image does not look the same as the original. A line of dots is always missing from the scanned image. 4-16 A line of dots always appears in the scanned image. When using halftoning, textured patterns of dots appear inside particular areas of the image. Colors in the image look odd. Colors on your monitor are different from those in the original image. Printed colors are different from those in the original image. 4-18 The printed image is larger or smaller than the original. Scanned images cannot be printed or come out garbled when printed.
