Operating problems
Problems you may have while using the scanner often involve the
operation of your software and computer. Operation problems
usually occur because of:
❏Incorrect setup of the interface (see Chapter 1).
❏Inappropriate selection of the scanner functions (see your
software manual).
❏Incorrect setup of your computer or software (see Chapter 1
in this guide or the software manual).
❏Incorrect operation of your software (see your software
manual).

Cause 1: The cover of the optional Automatic
Document Feeder is open, or the release
lever is pressed and paper feeding unit is
slightly open.
What to do 1: Make sure that the cover of optional Auto
Document Feeder is closed and/or push
the paper feeding unit down until it clicks
into place.
Cause 2: No paper is loaded, or paper is jammed in
the Auto Document Feeder.
What to do 2: Load paper in the Auto Document
Feeder, or turn the scanner off and
remove the jammed paper from the Auto
Document Feeder. See page 4-17 for
details.
