Error Responses

When the DVC receives a valid command, it executes the command and sends a response to the host device. If the unit is unable to execute the command because the command contains invalid parameters, it returns an error response to the host. The responses include:

E10 — Invalid command

E13 — Invalid parameter

E14 — Not valid for this configuration

E17 — Invalid command for signal type

Using the Command and Response Table

The Command and Response Table for SIS commands, later in this section, lists the commands that the DVC 501 SD converter recognizes as valid, the responses that are returned to the host, a description of the command function or the results of executing the command, and command examples.

NOTE: If the unit does not support or recognize a command that is entered, no action is taken and no response is returned.
