Viewing and adjusting the input audio level (TPX 88 A only)

On the TPX 88 A, the audio level of each input can be displayed and adjusted through a range of -18 dB to +24 dB to ensure that there is no noticeable volume difference among sources. The audio level can be adjusted from the front panel or under RS-232/RS-422 control.

The input level adjustment does not affect the audio portion of the twisted pair

link output on RJ-45 connectors.

The input level adjustment will not work for an input whose tied local output

is muted. If one or more local outputs are muted, press the Mute All button

once or twice as necessary to turn off the Mute All LED.

1.

Press and hold the I/O button until the Audio LED begins to blink red, then

release the I/O button.

2.

Press and release an input button to select an input. The output buttons

display audio level and polarity (+ or -) for the selected input. Green output

buttons indicate a gain (+) audio level and red buttons indicate an attenuation

(-) level.

3.

Rotate the volume knob to increase and decrease the audio level.

4.

Press and release the I/O button to save the setting and exit the audio display

and adjustment mode. The Audio LED returns to unlit.

• There is one audio level setting per input. The audio level setting is shared by the left and right audio inputs.

• The audio level settings are stored in non-volatile memory. When power is removed and restored, the audio level settings are retained.
