FS Functions
78 FS -4 HD and FS-4 Pro H D Po rtab le D TE Re cor ders
Organize Reel FS-4Pro HD only
This selection places all files identified as a REEL clip during
recording or playback into the appropriate reel folder. You can
import this folder directly into most DV NLE bins.
Organize OMF FS-4Pro HD only
When files are recorded in the AVID OMF file format, this
selection allows you to take all the OMF and AIF audio files at
the end of a recording session and place them into a folder on
the disk drive named OMFI MediaFiles. When the disk is
connected to a computer, this folder is recognized by Avid
Xpress DV's Media Tool enabling direct import of files into the
Avid timeline. Refer to the section, Using Avid OMF Clips FS-4Pro
HD only on page 38 for more information.
Organize MXF FS-4Pro HD only
When using MXF OPAtom with some NLEs, such as AVID
Xpress Pro, it is necessary to do an Organize MXF. This is
available in the Utilities menu.
The Organize MXF:
Moves all MXF video files into the
/contents/video directory.
Moves all MXF audio files into the
/contents/audio directory.
Updates and moves the xml files from the log directory
into the /contents/clip directory.
Generates thumbnails of the clips in the
/contents/icon directory.
Organize Functions are Mutually Exclusive
Once one organize utility is performed on a set of files, another organize
function can not be applied. For example, if the Organize OMF is used on a
set of files, then Organize Reel can not be applied to them.
