COOLING ONLY ROOM AIR CONDITIONERS: TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Problem	Possible Cause	Action
	Overload inoperative. Opens too	Check operation of unit. Replace overload if

	Compressor restarted before	Allow a minimum of 2 minutes to allow
		pressures to equalize before attempting to

	Defective thermistor	Replace thermistor or electronic control board

	Fan blade striking chassis	Reposition - adjust motor mount
Noisy operation		Check that compressor grommets have not
	Compressor vibrating	deteriorated. Check that compressor mounting
		parts are not missing
	Improperly mounted or loose	Check assembly & parts for looseness,
	cabinet parts	rubbing & rattling

	Evaporator drain pan overflowing	Clean obstructed drain trough
		Evaporator drain pan broken or cracked.
	Condensation forming on base pan	Reseal or replace. No chassis gasket installed.
		Install chassis gasket
	Poor installation resulting in rain	Check installation instructions. Reseal as
Water leaks into	entering the room	required
		Dirty evaporator coil. Use pressure wash
