Taking Pictures in Q(Scene Recognition) Mode

3Focus.

Press the shutter button halfway to focus.

R The lens may make a noise when the camera focuses; this

beep

 

is normal.

 

If the camera is able to focus, it will beep twice.

If the camera is unable to focus, the focus frame will turn red, s will be dis- played. Change the composition or use focus lock (P26).

4 Shoot.

 

Smoothly press the shutter button the rest of the way

down to take the picture.

R If the subject is poorly lit, the flash may fire when the pic- ture is taken. For information on using the flash when lighting is poor, see “N Using the Flash (Intelligent Flash)” (P30).

The Shutter Button

The shutter button has two positions. Pressing the shutter button halfway sets focus and exposure; to shoot, press the shutter button the rest of the way down.
