Changing the sensitivity setting ([S ISO])

Use this menu to specify required sensitivity setting of the ambient light around the subject.

The larger value of the sensitivity, the higher sensitivity is obtained. The higher sensitivity settings will allow you to take pictures in darker locations.

Settings [AUTO]/[AUTO(1600)]/[AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)]/ [6400]/[3200]/[1600]/[800]/[400]/[200]/[100]/[64] Selecting [AUTO]/[AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)] as the sensitivity setting, the camera selects the best sensitivity setting for the subject’s brightness.

MEMO

When anything other than N, <, M and >in the Photography mode is selected, only AUTO can be selected for the ISO (sensitivity) setting.

When N, <, M and >in the Photography mode is selected, AUTO cannot be selected for the ISO (sensitivity) setting.

QUALITY] is limited to 4, when [ ISO] is set to

6400 or 3200. [ QUALITY] automatically changes

and is displayed in yellow in the LCD screen. When

[

ISO] is set to other than 6400 or 3200, the
restriction is cleared.

CAUTION

• Although higher sensitivity settings will allow you to take

pictures in darker locations, they will also increase the

amount of speckling in your images. Choose the

The selected sensitivity setting appears on the screen when the sensitivity setting is set to the setting other than [AUTO].

About [AUTO(1600)]/[AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)]

[AUTO(1600)]/[AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)] can be selected when the Mode dial is set to N. For [AUTO(1600)]/[AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)], sensitivity is automatically set in the same way as for [AUTO], but the highest sensitivity is limited. Select [AUTO(1600)]/ [AUTO(800)]/[AUTO(400)] depending on the scene.
