Instant Zoom

Instant Zoom allows you to decide how to frame a picture while seeing the area around your subject on the screen. Instant Zoom is also quicker to zoom than optical zoom.

Available Shooting modes: All (except for and )

Press (n) to activate the Instant Zoom.

The color of the box can be changed (➝p.111, 113).

Intelligent Face Detection can detect faces within the box.

CAUTION

Using the Instant Zoom allows you to enlarge your subject and shoot it. However, it will lower your image quality. Set the Instant Zoom when necessary.

When optical zoom is used

AEach time you press (n), the area to be enlarged changes.A box appears indicating the area to be enlarged.The area to be enlarged changes like this.1.4×2×2×1.4×BPress the shutter button to record the image within the box.

CAUTION

•When [fTOP 3] or [hLONG PERIOD] is set, only horizontal shots can be taken.

•When [ TOP 333] or [ TOP 33[] is set, horizontal shots can be taken continuously up to 33 frames, and vertical shots can be taken continuously up

to 26 frames.
