1. Description

Media properties

SP Sepharose™ High Perform ance and Q Sepharose H igh Performan ce
are strong cation and s trong anion excha ngers respect ively. Both remain
charged and maintain hig h capacity over broa d pH ranges. The fun ctional
groups are coupled to the ma trix via chemica lly stable ether li nkages.
Characteristic s of HiTrap SP HP and HiTrap Q HP, 1 and 5 ml columns a re
listed in Table 1.

Column

HiTrap Q HP and HiTrap SP HP are 1 ml and 5 ml colum ns made of
polypropylene, which i s biocompatibl e and non-interac tive with
biomolecules. The t op and bottom frit s are manufactur ed from porous
polyethylene. It is de livered with a stop per on the inlet and a s nap-off end
on the outlet.
The separation can be e asily achieved usi ng a syringe toget her with the
supplied luer adaptor, a per istaltic pump, o r in a chromatograph y system
such as ÄKTA™ or FPLC.
Note: To prevent leakage it i s essential to ensu re that the adaptor i s tight.
The column cannot be open ed or refilled.
