Aligning Blades

The scoring blade must be aligned with the main blade to ensure satisfactory cutting results.

To align the blades and riving knife:

1.Move the blade tilt to 0˚ (blade 90˚ to table), and raise the main blade all the way up.

2.Unlock the scoring blade adjustment using a hex wrench in the adjustment lock socket (Figure 35) and raise the blade to its high- est point using a hex wrench in the vertical adjustment socket.

3.Remove the stop screw from the round rail and move the rip fence against the blade as shown in Figure 36.

4.Use the adjustment controls to move the scoring blade so that the rip fence can touch both the scoring blade and the main blade and lower the scoring blade to 2mm (564").

5.Align the riving knife with the center of the main blade as described on this page.

6.Replace the stop screw, lock the adjust- ments, perform a test cut, then make any final adjustments if necessary.

To adjust the riving knife:

1.Disconnect the saw from the power source!

2.Move the blade tilt to 0˚ (blade 90˚ to table), and raise the main blade all the way up.

3.Check both sides of the blade with a straight- edge touching the teeth as shown in Figure 37.

—If the straightedge touches the riving knife evenly on both sides, go to Step 4.

—If the straightedge only touches the riving knife on one side, go to Step 5.
