Soupe epicée aux lentilles et aux pois chiches avec de la saucisse Chorizo

1 lb. (450 g) lentilles brunes, bien rincées et essorées

2 boites de 14 oz. (400 g) de tomates en dés avec leur jus 3 boites de 15 oz. (425 ml) de bouillon de poulet

1 gros oignon, pelé, haché

4 gousses d’ail, épluchées, hachées

3 carottes, pelées, tranchées

6 brins de thym frais

1 boite de14 oz. (400 g) de pois chiches, rincés et égouttés 1 saucisse Chorizo de 12 oz (350 g) tranchée

1/2 lime frais, son jus

1/2 à 1 1/2 cuiller à thé (2,5-7,5 ml) de poivre de Cayenne moulu Sel et poivre frais moulu au goût

Persil frais, haché pour garnir

Mélangez les lentilles, les carottes, les tomates, 2 boites de bouillon de poulet, l’oignon, l’ail et les brins de thym dans le pot en grès. Cuisez à basse température pendant 6 heures, ou à température élevée pendant 4 heures, jusqu’à ce que les lentilles soient tendres. Enlevez les brins de thym. Ajoutez les pois chiches, la saucisse, 1 boite de bouillon de poulet et le poivre de Cayenne moulu.

Cuisez à basse température pendant 2 heures supplémentaires ou à température élevée pendant 1 heure supplémentaire. Juste avant de servir, versez le jus de citron et assaisonnez avec du sel et du poivre fraîchement moulu. 4-6 portions.

Boulettes de viande BBQ de jardin

1 paquet de 80 oz. (2,28 kg) de boulettes de viande congelées 2 oignons moyens, hachés

3/4 tasse (175 ml) de miettes de bacon véritable 1 pot de 18 oz. (500 ml) de sauce de BBQ Fromage Monterey Jack râpé pour servir

Mélangez l’oignon haché, la sauce de BBQ et les miettes de bacon dans le pot en grès. Ajoutez les boulettes de viande à la sauce et mélangez. Cuisez à température élevée pendant 2 heures *. Recouvrez de fromage râpé si vous le désirez et servez. 10-12 portions.
