SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Maintenance and Storage:

Continued.

Check the grassbag frequently for wear or deterioration. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure that the equipment is in safe operating condition.

Frequently check fuel lines and fittings for cracks or leaks and replace if necessary.

Never check for a spark with the spark plug removed. (Use an approved tester).

Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Never crank the engine with the spark plug removed. If the engine is flooded, move the throttle to the ‘fast’ position and crank the engine until it starts.

Manual background Never strike the flywheel with a hammer or hard object as this may cause the flywheel to shatter in operation. Always use the correct tools to service the engine.

Manual background Never operate the engine without a muffler guard. Inspect the muffler periodically and replace if worn or leaking.

Never start the engine with the air-cleaner or air-cleaner cover removed.

Manual background Never store the mower with petrol in the tank within an enclosed area where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.

Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.

Manual background To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine, muffler, cooling fins and petrol storage area free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease.

Check the grassbag frequently for wear or deterioration.

Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.

If the fuel tank has to be drained, it is essential that this be done outdoors.
