1.24 | OPERATING THE TRACTOR | 1.24 |
STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE
Starting: Open the fuel
1.Sit on the tractor seat.
2.Ensure that both the cutterdeck and sweeper drive switches are in the ‘Off’ position and that the parking brake is engaged.
NOTE: The engine will not start if any of the conditions above are not satis- fied.
3.Turn the ignition key clockwise and hold it in the ‘Start’ position. When the engine starts, release the key.
NOTE: It should only be necessary to use the choke before starting a cold engine. Before starting a warm engine, position the engine control lever in the ‘Fast’ position.
Stopping: Move the throttle lever to the ‘Slow’ position.
IMPORTANT: To prevent backfiring and damage to the engine, do not move the throttle lever to the ‘CHOKE’ or ‘FAST’ positions before stopping the engine.
NOTE: If the engine has been working hard let it idle for a minute before turning the ignition key to “Off”.
OPERATOR SAFETY SYSTEM
The operator safety system has been designed to prevent the engine from starting unless:
-The operator is sitting on the seat.
-The parking brake is engaged.
-The cutterdeck drive switch is in the ‘Off’ position.
-The sweeper drive switch is in the ‘Off’ position.
The operator safety system has been designed to:
-stop the drive to both the cutterdeck and sweeper collector if the operator rises from the tractor seat.
-stop the engine if the operator rises from the tractor seat UNLESS the parking brake is engaged.
WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - Do not operate the mower if the operator safety system is defective in any way.
IMPORTANT: ALWAYS replace faulty parts and check that they function correctly before operating the tractor.
