Fiber Channel on the HP ProLiant BL25p server blade
The following items are needed to connect the HP ProLiant BL25p server blade to the SAN:
1. HP ProLiant BL25/45p
The HP ProLiant BL25/45p
Two ports on each
Supports up to 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel equipment
Uses the QLogic chipset
Includes two small form factor pluggable transceivers with LC connectors for installation into the Patch Panel 2, CGESM or GbE2 Interconnect Switch (with the Storage Connectivity Kit)

Allows pass through of both Ethernet and Fibre Channel signals
Ethernet signals exit out the rear of the
8 Fibre Channel small form factor pluggable (SPF) transceiver slots on the front of each
or
2B. BL
Allows LAN signal consolidation and pass through of BL20p G3 Fibre Channel signals
Both LAN Ethernet signals and SAN Fibre Channel signals exit out the rear of the GbE2 or CGESM Interconnect Switch (with the Storage Connectivity Kit option) via dedicated modular interconnect modules
8 Fibre Channel small form factor pluggable (SPF) transceiver slots on the back of each GbE2 Interconnect Switch (16 Fibre Channel SPF slots per server blade enclosure)
SPF transceivers are included with the HP ProLiant BL25p
