The switch on the battery does not have any electrical function. When the battery is drained, you can flip the switch so that the red dot shows. This can help to remind you that the battery needs to be recharged, which is convenient if you have other batteries.
Using Power Properties
Power Properties displays information about the current state of your battery and allows you to control options that can conserve battery power.
To use Power Properties
1.Tap the Start button, tap Settings, and then tap Power. If you are not familiar with using the Start menu, read Using the Start Menu and taskbar section in chapter 5.
If the power plug icon is on the taskbar,
2.Tap the Status, Power, or Dimming tab (see the next section for details.
3.Select your preferences. For more information, read the following paragraphs, or tap the Help button.
4.Tap OK to save the changes and exit, or tap the Close button (X in the upper right corner) to abandon the changes.
