Focus Assist Light

Sometimes in low-light situations, the camera will use the red focus assist light on the front of the camera to aid in focusing. This setting allows you to turn off this light (for example when you do not want the focus assist light to distract the subject of your picture).

1In the Setup menu (page 83), select Focus Assist.

2In the Focus Assist sub-menu, highlight Auto or Off.

3Press OK to save the setting and return to the Setup menu.

NOTE HP recommends leaving this

setting at Auto, since turning it off hinders the ability of the camera to focus correctly in low light.

LCD Brightness

This setting lets you adjust the brightness of the Image Display. By default, the Image Display is optimized for indoor use. You can use this setting to increase the brightness and contrast for better outdoor viewing.

NOTE If you use the Outdoor setting, the image may appear overexposed when viewing it on the camera indoors.

1In the Setup menu (page 83), select LCD Brightness.

2In the LCD Brightness sub-menu, select Indoor or Outdoor.

3Press OK to save the setting and return to the Setup menu.
