4. Enter the profile information.

Profile Name | Enter a name for your profile. |
|
|
SSID | This is the service set identifier (SSID) that allows |
| you to connect to any available access point. |
| The default is “blank” when you connect to an |
| infrastructure network. |
| You and the wireless site you want to connect to |
| must use the same SSID. This identification |
| number uses a maximum of 32 characters and is |
| case sensitive. |
|
|
Power Management | The default selection is “No.” Selecting “Yes” |
| will provide lower performance and use less |
| power. |
|
|
Network | Choose: Infrastructure to connect to a wired |
| network via a wireless access point (the default). |
| Ad hoc for |
|
|
Region | You are required to select your region from the |
| list or the option “Rest of the World” if your |
| region is not available. |
|
|
Channel | The default is “Auto.” |
| You do not need to specify a channel if you are |
| using an infrastructure network. It will use the |
| same channel as the access point. |
| Otherwise, set the frequency that corresponds to |
| your country’s regulatory commission’s range |
| and the 802.11b standard. |
|
|
Transmission Rate | The default is “Auto.” |
| This is the wireless data transmission speed. You |
| can select speeds of 1, 2, 5.5, or 11 Mbps. |
