Chapter 1. Installing options

This chapter provides an introduction to the features and options that are available for your computer. You can expand the capabilities of your computer by adding memory, adapters or drives. When installing an option, use these instructions along with the instructions that come with the option.

Important:

Before you install or remove any option, read “Safety Information” on page v.

These precautions and guidelines will help you work safely.

Features

This section provides an overview of the computer features and preinstalled software.

Microprocessor

Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with either 256 KB or 512 KB of internal L2 cache memory and Intel NetBurstmicro-architecture

Memory

vSupport for two dual inline memory modules (DIMMs)

2.5 V, 184-pin, 266MHz double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory (DDR SDRAM)

128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, or 1.0 GB (when available) DIMMs in any combination (See “Installing memory” on page 12 for additional information.)

v512 KB flash memory for system programs

Internal drives
