Fn key combinations

The following table shows the function of each combination

of Fn with a function key.

Fn+F1 Reserved.
Fn+F2 Reserved.
Fn+F3 Turnoff the LCD display, leaving the screen
blank.To turn the LCD display on again, press
anykey or the TrackPoint stick.
Fn+F4 Putthe computer in standby mode. To return to
normaloperation, press the Fn key
independently,without pressing a function key.
Note: InWindows 2000 and Windows XP, this
combinationof buttons functions as a sleep
button.The setting can be changed so that
pressingit puts the computer into hibernation
modeor even shuts the computer down.
Fn+F5 Reserved.
Fn+F6 Reserved.
Fn+F7 Switchbetween the computer display and an
externalmonitor (CRT). If an external monitor is
attached,computer output is displayed in the
followingthree patterns by turns:
vCRTdisplay
vComputerdisplay + CRT display
vComputerdisplay
Fn+F8 Switchthe computer screen size between
expandedand normal mode if the computer
displayimage is smaller than the physical
display.
Note: Thisfunction is not supported in
Windows2000 and Windows XP.
Fn+F9 Reserved.
Fn+F10 Reserved.
Fn+F11 Reserved.
Fn+F12 Putthe computer into hibernation mode. To
returnto normal operation, press the power
buttonfor less than four seconds.
Note: InWindows 2000 and Windows XP, you
canuse Fn+F12 for hibernation only if the IBM
PMdevice driver has been installed on the
computer.
Fn+PgUp Turnthe ThinkLight on or off.
Fn+Home Thecomputer display becomes brighter.
Fn+End Thecomputer display becomes less bright.
Fn+Spacebar Enablethe FullScreen Magnifier function.
