3.4.15 Security Option

Select whether the password is required every time the system boots or only when you enter setup.

"System"

The system will not boot, and access to Setup will be denied

if the correct password is not entered at the prompt.

"Setup"

The system will boot, but access to Setup will be denied if

the correct password is not entered at the prompt.

Note:

To disable security, select “PASSWORD SET-

 

TING” in the main menu. At this point, you will

 

be asked to enter a password. Simply press

<Enter> to disable security. When security is disabled, the system will boot, and you can enter Setup freely.

3.4.16 APIC Mode

This setting allows to enable the APIC mode, the choice is “Disabled” or “Enabled.”

3.4.17 MPS Version Control For OS

This reports if an FDD is available for Windows 95. The selections are "1.1" or "1.4."

3.4.18 OS Select For DRAM > 64MB

Select OS2 only if you are running OS/2 operating system with greater than 64MB of RAM on the system. Commands are “Non-OS2” or “OS2.”

3.5 Advanced Chipset Features

By choosing the “Advanced Chipset Features” option from the “Initial Setup Screen” menu, the screen below will be displayed. This sample screen contains the manufacturer’s default values for the AIMB-744, as shown in Figure 3-4:
