Chapter 9—Adjustments

Label Gap Sensor Calibration

The label gap sensor will need to be calibrated and the media feed adjusted at the following occasions:

After media load when the printer is used for the first time.

After loading media that differs from the previously loaded in regard of type (gaps, black marks, or continuous), size and location of gaps or black marks, or transparency of the liner.

When the printer starts feeding out labels or similar in an unexpected way or when the print image becomes positioned in the wrong place.

The calibration is performed in the Autosensing Mode. Do like this:

1Switch off the printer.

2Switch on the printer while holding the Pause key.

3If the printer is fitted with a display, it will show the following mes- sage:

4The printer will feed out some labels or similar while checking the characteristics of the media and autoadjust the sensitivity and the feed parameters.

5Provided the printer has a display, one of the following messages is briefly displayed depending on type of media, when the calibration is completed:

6The printer switches automatically to the Direct Mode.

To break the Autosensing Mode before it is finished and enter the Direct Mode, press the Cancel key.
