Switching the Image Output Format

9￿This unit has an HDMI terminal that connects digitally with the monitor.

HDMI can be easily connected using just one cable. Moreover, you can enjoy high image and high sound quality as the video and audio signals are output as digital signals.

9￿Up converting to increase the image resolution, and progressive scanning without flicker are possible.

0Use this function if connected to a compatible TV using the HDMI terminal or component video terminal.

0If connected to the TV using the SCART connector, set to A576iB.

0If the HDMI connection is not used, the screen may not be displayed depending on the setting of the output format. Set the output format again while checking the front display panel.

0The resolution automatically switches when timer recording begins while watching in A1080iB/A720pB. During which, the picture may be distorted or may not be displayed.

0It is not possible to change the output format while the Playback Setting Menu is being displayed. Clear the Playback Setting Menu, then change the output format.

0The output format set will be displayed on the front display panel for 5 seconds.

Conditions for up converting (Output using A1080iB, A720pB)

Only during playback of programme titles. Up convert will be cancelled in the following cases. Returns to the original output when playback begins.

0During recording (including temporary recording. See

ATemporary RecordingB [ P88].)

0During on-air image display

0During Library Database Navigation operation

0During editing

0During dubbing setup or dubbing

0When Setup Menu is displayed

0When HELP screen is displayed

0During programme navigation

0During Video CD, CD, JPEG and MP3 playback

When HDMI is not connected

0AAUTOB, A1080iB, and A720pB cannot be set. When A576pB is set, signal will be output from the [COMPONENT] terminal.

When HDMI is connected

0When AAUTOB is set, signal will be output in the highest format (supports up to A720pB) automatically detected.

0When up convert is not possible, signal will be output in A576pB.
