9￿Formatting will erase all the data. As such, before formatting a recorded disc, make sure the disc does not contain important recordings.

9￿Brand new DVD-RAM or DVD-RW discs may also need to be formatted.

9￿To use a DVD-R disc in VR mode, format the new disc in VR mode. (It will be in Video mode when not formatted.)

0All the titles on a disc will be deleted once the disc is

formatted even if they are protected titles. [ P80]

0DVD-R discs can only be formatted once.
