Changing the AF/AE AreaNormally, in this camera this setting is “MULTI” in order to prevent the subject from being out of focus while the background is in focus. If the camera does not focus on the point that you want it to, change this setting to “SPOT”.

1 Turn the Power dial to “M”.
•Hold the Lock button down while turning the Power dial.
2 Select “MANUAL” with the MODE switch. •“MANUAL” appears on the LCD panel.
3 Press the DISPLAY button until the CAMERA SETTING screen appears.
4 Press the r t button to select “AF/AE”.
5 Press the w e button to select “SPOT”.
6 Press the DISPLAY button to turn off the menu screen.
NOTE:
MULTI: A precise exposure setting is made by dividing the scene into several sections and then measuring the light in each section.
SPOT: The exposure is set by measuring the light in a small spot in the center of the scene. Use this mode when you want to shoot a subject with a large difference between dark and bright area, such as someone on a skihill, or someone standing in a spotlight in a darkened theater.
