Using the Microphone

You can enjoy singing along (Karaoke) and microphone mixing.

IMPORTANT:

To apply an echo to your voice

Press ECHO on the unit (or press and hold SHIFT, then press ECHO on the remote control) so that the echo ( ) indicator lights up on the

Singing Along

Vocal Masking

Vocal Masking reduces the lead vocal of the playing source, and allows you to replace it by singing into the microphone as the music plays.

On the unit ONLY:

If howling or squealing (feedback) occurs while using the microphone

Take the following actions to prevent these noises.

Adjust the MIC LEVEL and VOLUME controls

Avoid pointing the microphone towards the speakers.

If you use the following sources as the playing source for Vocal Masking, you cannot get the satisfactory results

Radio programs — a radio signal is not as reliable as the signals coming from a tape or CD.

Monaural sources.

Poorly dubbed tapes.

Sources recorded with duets, strong echo, a chorus, or only a few instruments.

Singing Along with Multiplex Karaoke Discs

When you use multiplex karaoke discs or tapes, you can use Multiplex Sound and Vocal Replace.

Multiplex Sound

In a multiplex karaoke disc or tape, the instrumental part is recorded on the left channel and the vocal part is recorded on the right channel. By using Multiplex Sound function, you can select the channel to playback.

Vocal Replace

You can replace the recorded vocal with your vocal while singing along. If you stop singing while a source is still playing, the recorded vocal will be resumed.
