The surround mode affects the signals emitted from the AUDIO OUT jacks. When recording on to a tape,

set the surround mode to “OFF.” ( 14)

When “5.1CH” is selected as the audio input setting for “VIDEO1,” only the left and right audio signals are emitted.

Select “VIDEO” as the source ( 12) for playing a component connected as follows.
