The bestdefrostingtimeand powerlevelsare automaticallydetermineddependingon
the foodweight you enter. The feature provides two options:
FINE DEFROST: Use for thoroughdefrosting of frozen foods, whenit is important to
have thecentersection defrosted as well as the outside. Examples for recommended use
are: wholechicken, roastsand steak.
QUICK DEFROST: Useto assist separation of frozen pieces ofchickenor fish that need
preparationprior to cooking.Also. this defrostoptionis excellent forthawing itemssuch
as frozenground meat for use inspaghetti sauce or for taco meat.
Example: To thoroughly defrost 1.2 Ib of chicken pieces:

Remove food from wrapper to prevent holding steam and juice and place in a
microwave-safe baking dish or a roasting rack to catch drippings.
Cover thin parts with aluminum foil to prevent overdefrosting.
Because some foods will still be icy in the center, it is necessary to have astanding
timeafter defrosting the food inthe oven. Foodshould be taken out of the oven to
complete defrosting. A longer standing time might be requiredfor denserfoods such
as roasts.
