3 Taking Videos

Use the Video setting on the Mode dial whenever you take videos or wish to customize your video-taking settings. Before you take a video, make sure your picture storage location is set the way you want it (page 14).

Viewfinder light

1Turn the Mode dial to Video . Preview is turned on; the LCD displays a live image and the status bar. The time displayed indicates how much recording time is available.

2Frame your subject in the LCD, or press Select to turn off Preview and use the viewfinder.

3Press the Shutter button half-way until the viewfinder light glows green, then record two ways:

µPress and hold—continue pressing the Shutter button completely down and hold. Release the Shutter button to stop recording.

µPress and release —continue pressing the Shutter button completely down and release within 2 seconds. Press the Shutter button again to stop recording.

The viewfinder light blinks green while the camera is recording.

Recording stops if you reach the specified video length interval (page 30), or when the current storage location is full.

When Preview and QuickView are on, you can immediately play the video, then decide if you want to keep it or delete it. See page 26.
