YourcomputercomeswiththeThinkPadSetupprogramtoenableyoutoselectvarioussetupparameters.
TostartThinkPadSetup,dothefollowing:
1.Toprotectyourselfagainstaccidentallossofdata,backupyourcomputerregistry.See“Performing
backupandrecoveryoperations”onpage58.
2.Turnonthecomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,presstheF1key.theThinkP adSetup
programmainmenuopens.
Ifyouhavesetasupervisorpassword,theThinkPadSetupprogrammainmenuwillbedisplayed
afteryouenterthepassword.YoucanstartThinkPadSetupbypressingEnterinsteadofenteringthe
supervisorpassword.However,youcannotchangetheparametersthatareprotect edbythesupervisor
password.Formoreinformation,referto“Usingpasswords”onpage47.
3.Usingthecursorkeys,movetoanitemyouwanttochange.Whentheitemishighlighted,press
Enter.Asubmenuisdisplayed.
4.Changetheitemsyouwishtochange.Tochangethevalueofanitem,pressthe+or-key.Iftheitem
hasasubmenu,youcandisplayitbypressingEnter .
5.PressEsctoexitfromthesubmenu.
6.Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachtheThinkPadSetupprogram
mainmenu.
