The‘Test’stateisonlyaccessiblebypressingthe‘Test’buttonontheremotecontrol.Wheninthisstate,apinknoise‘testtone’

 

willbeplayedfromeachspeakerinsteadoftheselectedsourceinput.Thistonewillcomefromonespeakeratatime,in2.5

 

secondintervals,inthefollowingorder:leftfront,center,rightfront,rightrear,leftrear,sub.Toexitthisstate,justpressthe‘Test’

 

buttonagain.

 

UsetheTeststatetoverifythatyourspeakersareconnectedproperly,ortosetlevelsbetweentherear,front,andcenter

Q.CanIextendthespeakercables?

A.Yes.Purchasestandardspeakerwire,18gaugeorhigher,andcutandstriptodesiredlength.

Q.Thereisnosoundcomingfromone(ormore)speakers.

A.Confirmthatthespeakerisconnectedproperly.Wheninsertingthewire,makesurethebarewiresitsonthemetal connectorinthespringclip.Thisiscritical–metalmustbeonmetal–ortheconnectionwillnotbesufficient. Sometimestheplasticwireshieldingispushedontothemetalconnector,whichpreventsthewirefrommakingasolid contactwiththeconnectorinthespringclip.Thiswillalsopreventyourspeakerfromworking.Ifthisisthecase,simply pullthewireoutsomesothatthewiremakesacleancontactwiththemetalpartoftheconnector.

Q.Whathappensifthespeakerwiresarereversed?(redwiretoblackspringclipononespeaker,redwiretoredspringclip onthesubwoofer,orviseversa)

A.Ifthewiresarenotconnectedtothesamecolorspringcliponboththesatelliteandthesubwoofer,thenthespeaker willbeoutofphase.Thiswillresultinnoticeablypoorormuddysound.Tofixthisproblem,simplyconnectthespeaker andthesatellitesothattheredwiregoestotheredspringcliponboththesatelliteandthesubwoofer.
